Black The Fall: Stealth or Violent? You Decide

From Archiact Interactive, makers of Jelly Chop and Lamper VR, comes A new side-scrolling called Black The Fall may be coming to light if it gains enough supporters. Although a playable demo hasn't been released yet, what the creators have released to the public speaks for itself.

The player controls, Black, a character with amnesia. Black will travel through many of the diverse areas in the game, solving puzzles, avoiding or killing enemies, and basically, trying to survive through the bleak world which he lives in. Although a side-scroller, the graphics led to the feelings and story that the creators wish to convey. Even the main character himself gives off a disturbing feeling with his appearance, mannerisms, and white eyes (perhaps this'll make you question just what kind of man you are controlling). Even if you aren't at all disturbed by the graphics, you'll at least be impressed by how good it looks.

One of the chief features of the game is consequence; one action directly influences something else in the game. For example, if you save a local resident, then they'll leave you alone, but if you attack them or betray them, they'll be sure to return the favor. Although not stated, it would seem like a good guess to think that the more robots you destroy, the more dangerous you are labeled and the more robots that will come after you.

The game has a little bit of everything and it would seem that each environment requires different levels of puzzle solving, quick movements, and cunning to get through. It has a decent array of enemies, each with their own defining characteristic that make them dangerous (or merely to simply add to the feel of the game, like children), it has crafting, upgradable weapons, a weather system, traps to avoid, and quite possible more to come.

As for drawbacks, I can't really say at this point since a demo hasn't been released (trying to review a game without playing it is like trying to give an opinion of a food that you've never eaten; you can look at it, smell it, check its nutritional value, see how tender it is, but it is the taste that matters in the end). It doesn't matter how good a game looks, it can still be done very bad or very good depending on how the controls feel for the player, if the gameplay gets too repetitive, if there are glitches, and if the objective the player is working toward feels satisfying enough to keep moving.

Still, great graphic, a good concept, a list of unique enemies, and a cool story are definitely a plus in my book. Check out the Kickstarter below.

Red Cobra - The new beautiful Shmup [Developer Interview]

Hey all, welcome back to indiegamenest!
As I have mentioned several days ago that I was going to do a Q&A session with the developer of Red Cobra, Colleen Wilson, and everything went as it was planned, so good for us!

If you don't know what Red Cobra is, it is new Shmup (Shoot-em-up) adventure game, that has a classic element to it. Looking at it, it brings me back to the days when I used to go to some arcades, where I would buy bunch of coins and play'em games. Enough about me, Red Cobra was first put on Steam Greenlight on October 14th, so for those of you who want to see this game to be released, please VOTE on the steam Greenlight !

Here's the link:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=326841906

This game is under development still, and there's so much more feature that hasn't, but will be added by the developers. The developers are actually a couple of great husband and wife team, with great courage, effort, and teamwork, Ajari Wilson and Colleen Wilson.

Before we go ant further, if you guys have any interest in following what their next games will be, don't forget to visit http://www.adversarygames.com !

This game with such majestic graphics has a lot of potential, and I'm really loving it!
When it will first release though, it will only support PC and Mac, but if the kickstarter campaign is fullfilled, and the game is fully released, Adversary Games will most likely to make this available to other platforms such as Playstation 4, Vita, Xbox One and WiiU (still their stretch goals).

As for the story goes, this is what I can quote from their Kickstarter campaign

"
The evil organization G.R.I.P (Global Repression and Imprisonment Patrol) has begun occupying countries under the rule of tyranny and slavery. G.R.I.P has recently set their eye on a cluster of small countries to the west. These small countries have banded together and are simply called, the "Allied Nations".
When the Allied Nations received lintel that G.R.I.P has become frustrated with the AN's resistance and plans to launch a nuclear bomb, they sprang into preemptive action and launched a nuclear strike of their own.
Operation Cobra would send a swell of ground and air forces to protect Goliath, the 300-man flying fortress that would drop the nuclear weapon of mass destruction over G.R.I.P's nuclear launch facilities with hopes to end the invasion.
When Goliath was shot down by G.R.I.P's overwhelming forces, a small team was sent on a suicide mission to finish what Goliath had failed to do. Their plan is to stay away from large battles while flying under the radar, in hopes of as little resistance as possible but enemy territory is uncharted and nobody knows what they will face behind the lines.
Due to the severity and urgency of the mission, Operation Cobra has been upgraded to Operation Red Cobra.
"

Anyways, I don't want to keep you guys waited, but here's the Q&A sessions that we had on Monday 15th, 2014. I apologize first of all though, since Fraps' cropping system is a little bit weird, so the quality isn't the greatest. I promise, next Q&A's will be better than this one!

Moon Hunters - Solving Mysteries, Building Myths.

Hey all, welcome back to indiegamenest !

We would like to welcome you, and today's post features a new upcoming indie release called Moon

Hunters. Moon Hunters is currently under development by an indie dev team called KitFox Games

(Their website here www.kitfoxgames.com). Moon Hunters is a Co-op adventure game (can be

played by up to 4 players), where you have to solve ancient mysteries, explore, and uncover secrets.

This will somewhat have an isometric view with a unique hand-painted pixel graphics. Cute, yet

fascinating, amazing, and intriguing. I have been in touch with the creative director, and hoping that I

could get several copies to giveaway on this blog, but we will have to wait until this game is released

(Follow this blog for the announcement). This is the trailer of the game! Feel free to watch it.

As quoted from their official website http://www.moonhuntersgame.com/
" Game features:
  • A procedurally generated journey: Over a hundred different locations and landmarks each have their own potential to help or hinder adventurers.
  • Exploration is key: Every landmark and territory may contain a Myth, which is essential in growing your world and your character.
  • Non-linear story: The mythology of your character and world is determined by your actions, and the world reacts to you differently based on the mythology you build. How will you react when you find a villager has lied to you? Temperamental heroes may be tempted to kill them in revenge, while more charismatic heroes use guile to extract the truth. Or do you try to ferret out other possible traitors? If you have trained in the powers of Dark Magic, the traitor may have a secret to share...
  • Personality traits as elements of legend: Your decisions reflect different aspects of your personality to storytellers of different factions.
  • Pick-up-and-play action: Easy to learn, intuitive sword-swinging and spell-flinging, inspired by the universality of the Legend of Zelda.
  • Character progression: Unlock new powers, creatures, items, and myths as you explore the world.
  • Gamer-family friendly: Accessible controls, short play sessions, and co-operative gameplay allow families to play together easily."

Crevis - The new creative builder

Hey all, how are you doing? Welcome to indie game nest where you can find all of the news in the

indie game development world ! Today we have a great upcoming release by a new indie developer

named Niften. "Crevis" is a new indie developed 2D side scroller game (similar like terraria from

what it looks from its progression so far), where you will be able to venture the open world map,

build your imagination, hunt animals and monsters, and much more. What makes it different from

games such like terraria is other features of farming and growing fruits and also building your own

cottages and cities that have been added to the game. Hopefully this game will have a full lifetime

support and will have more updates to come !

For more information about the game's progression, visit
